"Wow. I listened to your podcast yesterday. Wow - that's me. I sat at my desk in tears thinking to myself she's talking about me. Our life's are different yet the same. We are in a place where we seek to unlearn what we have learned to experience freedom. Wow. I will listen to it again to write down those nuggets." TW
"You are phenomenal 💕 A huge success story. Accomplished and relatable. Being a divorced woman, and I must admit i contributed to the failure of my marriage, yet I still can relate to some things you mentioned. I can honestly say I felt like a failure, but I wasn’t happy. I never felt loved and I can’t remember ever hearing him say I love you. I raised his child for 8 years while he continued to say he didn’t want kids. Yes, I stopped taking birth control because I wanted a child, and yes I didn’t tell him until I was almost 4 months pregnant. I felt I did things to hopefully please him. Worked, raised his child, cleaned, cooked… I still never felt appreciated or as a contributing partner. You are a hero in my book. You gained a career, while I put myself on the backseat for him to gain his, never thinking we wouldn’t be married. Now he sits with three failed marriages under his bent. I did finally gain a rewarding career and as life would have it that changed do to a white woman provider that couldn’t and wouldn’t see eye to eye with me. 17 years in vascular surgery with all men and no issues. Bring her in and I was a problem. Yes, she generated revenue and they let their loyalty to me go and I was done. Crushed… never bought a house, never remarried… still considering a tattoo at this late age. I too am rebuilding and starting over. Yet you made it!! You retired. Never dismiss the things your went through, because in the eyes of many you are the success. Glad to have listened to your podcast." Awesome interview. so many nuggets that were reminders and also some to put into place. Thank you both!!!!
